Scenarios for failed utopias
The exhibition presents the most recent work of artists Pablo Mora (Colombia) and Radenko Milak (Bosnia-Herzegovina). In their works, the tension between these two regions is addressed by pointing out the crisis of modern discourse and its myth of ethical and political progress on which the Western world has been founded. From artistic practice as a space of resistance against the current formal and moral institutional crisis, and the physical and symbolic collapse of national projects, Mora and Milak find a scenario for dialogue within the framework of the long-term project University of Disaster (initiated by the latter in 2011 and which has had multiple international collaborations), in which a critical vision is explored on what could be considered the perfect image of the 20th century: the catastrophe.
