With studies in Architecture and Industrial Design at the U.P.B. in Medellin. Later, he earned a Master of Fine Arts with a concentration in Mixed Media at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, having been awarded with the Colfuturo Fellowship. He has been exhibiting since 1985, and since 1992 he has been working with the potato, giving it a reverse colonizer’s value: an American food that conquered Europe. He has created potatoes in a variety of materials, including gold, bronze, ceramics, and fabric. His works are part of the collections of the Rufino Tamayo Museum in Mexico, Banco de La RepĂşblica, the Museo de Antioquia, Museo de Arte Moderno de MedellĂn, and Suramericana.
