Luis Fernando Peláez (Colombia, 1945) is one of the most prominent artists of the 80s in Colombia. His work, which ranges from ensembles to installations and monumental works, is permeated by a poetics of time. Moments that he manages to stop by using visual metaphors to evoke his life experience with memory and the landscape.
Among other recognitions, we highlight his appointment as a Member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors (England), his public work called Nexus installed in Liverpool (England), the representation of Colombia at the 25th São Paulo Biennial (Brazil), the First Prize at XXXI National Hall of Colombian Artists (Colombia). His works are part of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of São Paulo (Brazil), Museum of the Americas (Washington D.C. United States), Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (Colombia).
He lives and works in Medellín, Colombia.
